Dumpster and disposal-bin rental across Vancouver
In Vancouver the roll-off is usually called a disposal bin, and the market runs from compact narrow-access bins for tight lots and rear lanes to 20- and 30-yard bins for major renovations and rebuilds. High property values drive heavy renovation and teardown activity, and the city's laneway-house and secondary-suite construction adds steady small-project demand. Because BC's recycling rules are strict, operators heavily separate dedicated dirt, concrete, clean-wood and drywall bins (priced by weight) from mixed-waste bins — so the type of debris matters as much as the size, and drywall in a mixed load can trigger steep penalty rates.
Permits and disposal in Vancouver
A bin on your own property needs no permit. Vancouver has a distinctive rule for the street: if the bin goes in front of your own home where no parking regulation applies, you can get a temporary street occupancy permit for up to two days at no fee — but you must have the permit before the bin is placed. In a metered or regulated zone, or for longer, fees apply and the permit takes about 7–10 business days to arrange (to post no-parking signs). For self-haul, the City runs the Vancouver South Transfer Station at 377 West Kent Avenue North and the Vancouver Landfill in Delta, both charging tipping fees by weight.
Metro Vancouver municipalities
Metro Vancouver is a federation of separate cities — Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, New Westminster, Delta, Langley and more — each with its own street-permit rules. Most local operators cover several of them, so tell us where the job is and we'll match you with one that services your municipality.
