Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Dumpsters Rental (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information. We aim to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. Dumpsters Rental is a lead-generation marketplace: we connect people who need a dumpster with independent local operators. We do not own or rent dumpsters ourselves.
What we collect
When you request a quote, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, phone number, email address, your city or neighbourhood, and information about your job (dumpster size, waste type and timing) plus any notes you add. When you browse the site, we and our providers automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring links (see “Cookies and analytics”).
Consent
By submitting a quote request, you consent to us collecting, using and sharing your information as described in this policy — in particular, sharing your request with local operators so they can contact you with a quote. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing hello@dumpstersrental.ca, subject to legal or contractual limits; withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer match you with operators. Withdrawal does not affect operators who already received your request before you withdrew.
How we use it
We use your information to match you with dumpster-rental operators who service your area, to pass your request to them so they can provide a quote, to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, to operate, secure and improve the site, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
To provide the service, we share your quote request with the participating operator we match you to so they can respond (see “Participating operators” below); once an operator receives your details, their own privacy practices apply to how they use them. We also rely on trusted service providers who process data on our behalf to run the site, including Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery and bot protection), Supabase (secure database hosting, Sydney, Australia), Resend (email delivery), Make (Integromat) (lead routing and delivery), and Google Analytics (usage measurement). Operators access your request through our secure operator platform, which reveals your contact details only to the operator(s) handling your enquiry. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
Participating operators
We share quote requests only with dumpster rental operators that we have verified as real, operating businesses. The current list of participating operators is published in our operators directory, which we keep up to date as arrangements change. The operator matched to your request at the time you submit it is the one who may receive your information.
Each operator is an independent business and, once they contact you, is responsible for handling your information under its own privacy policy. You can find each operator’s details on their profile page in the directory.
Cross-border transfer
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States (for example, our lead-routing provider and analytics and hosting providers). While data is in another country, it may be accessible to that country’s courts, law enforcement and regulators under their laws. By using the site you acknowledge this transfer.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are viewed and how people arrive). Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data, including a truncated/again-derived identifier and your IP address, on our behalf. This helps us improve the site; we do not use it to advertise to you. You can opt out by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by blocking cookies in your browser, or via any consent controls we provide. Our hosting and bot-protection provider (Cloudflare, including the Turnstile anti-spam widget on our forms) also processes limited technical data such as your IP address to keep the site secure and available.
Storage, retention and security
We take reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
While you fill in the quote form, your answers are kept temporarily in your own browser (session storage) so an accidental refresh or interruption doesn’t lose them. That draft never leaves your device, and it is cleared when you submit the form or close the tab.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent. To make a request, email hello@dumpstersrental.ca. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law.
Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first at hello@dumpstersrental.ca so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy regulator.
Children
The site is intended for adults arranging dumpster rentals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed; material changes take effect when posted.
