Renting a bin around Magnetic Hill
Magnetic Hill spreads around the junction of Route 126 (Mountain Road) and Route 2, the Trans-Canada, at the northwest edge of the city and partly inside Lutes Mountain. It is a mixed district rather than a plain residential one: the gravity-illusion hill that gave it the name, the Magnetic Hill Zoo, Magic Mountain water park, a golf course, the shopping area running from Bulman Drive out to the city limits, and a concert site built in 1984 for Pope John Paul II's mass and since redeveloped into a venue the City lists at over 80,000 capacity, with the Rolling Stones, U2 and AC/DC among the acts it has staged. Behind all that sit older homes, the Magnetic Hill Estates subdivision, newer upscale builds and recent apartment construction, at a semi-rural density that leaves driveway room for a 20- or 30-yard roll-off. HST of 15% applies to base and tipping fees in New Brunswick.
Placement and the Berry Mills depot
Lots out here run suburban to rural in scale, so the default is straightforward — the container goes on the driveway, on private ground, and no municipal permit enters into it. The case worth thinking through is the newer apartment construction, where a bin more often sits in a shared parking area: still private property, but the property manager rather than the city is who you clear it with. Disposal is close at hand, too. The Eco360 Waste Management Facility at Berry Mills is on this same northwest side of Moncton, which keeps the run short on a construction or demolition load.
